An awesome end to our post Christmas walk. Filled up on some baguettes and a delicious lemon drizzle cake. Although we paid more than we normally would it was still a lovely visit. The staff were friendly and even put blankets on the wet benches so you could sit outside!
Situated near the entrance to the National Trust Parke estate at Bovey Tracey, it offers reasonable light meals and snacks, welcome after completing a lengthy walk on and from the estate. The building is a little cramped inside, especially when busy at holiday times but some outside seating is available for good weather. Opening hours are normally limited to daytime only, but pre-booked meals are provided on some evenings. Check their website for details.
A really special place that punches way above its weight on food. Outstanding cooking (I had guinea fowl and confit potatoes with perfectly cooked veg - and I'm VERY fussy about my veg!) with genuinely talented chefs in such a beautiful location. Housed in an old farm building with lovely ambience. Lovely staff. Unusual to find somewhere that does cafe food and evening menu food so well. Wonderful. Finished with handmade petit fours! You can tell it is independently owned by people who seem to really care about the standard of what they serve.
